A local band that outlasted everyone's favorite MacBook sales person and only got better.

Emarosa was founded in 2006 and has continued releasing new music to preset day. And like many bands to last that length of time their member time line chart looks like a damn Midi track. Yet somehow they have continued to produce what I think is objectively good music, you might not agree with me there but there is no argument that they have a style they have made all their own over the years. A style that has outlasted many of the its members in a way that is ever evolving. So if you find yourself not liking something you hear jump around their discography as their style changes a lot album or two. I'm going to touch on two over their songs that have had a absolute choke hold on me since I have first heard them.
To start, Cautious from their 2019 album Peach club. This album is a synth-pop lovers we dream. If you aren't sure exactly what synth-pop is just things 80's pop with a lot of synths. If you still aren't with me just think keytar, smoke machines, and just fun as vibes. This song is a full on 80's pop love drama packed in a way that just makes you want to get lost in it. This song has all the makings of a summer ballad unfortunately it was only 2-3 decades late. But just like any good song it has the ability to transcend the fads of time.
Now time for the B side and the tainted post hardcore past... Lets get this out of the way early, yes that is Jonny Craig singing in "The Past Should Stay Dead". He was only with the band for 3 years and was kicked out for obvious Jonny related reasons. (shocks absolutely no one) So with that out of the way this is 1000% what the post hardcore scene sounded like if you had a girl friend that shopped hot topic and had her hands stamped at the door of shows circa 2008. And its straight fire but that might just be the millennial coming out of me. Chuggs, tappy lead guitar parts, and Jonny on vocals. This was the scene incarnate. So forgive me this song just feels like sharing headphones from that one girl in physics class.
