Troubled Minds for troubled times

Every long for the grungy sound of (pop?) punk from the early 2000's? Well may I introduce you to a small band from Phoenix, AZ, Troubled Minds. This band goes all the way back to 2013 as your typical garage band with buddies just writing and playing the music they enjoyed. Only in 2022 when they released their single "like i used to be" do I think they had finally found their sound and their place in the genre. Their sound is very reminiscent of Simple Plan from back in the day with a mix of title fight and the vocal phrasing from the wonder years.

This song is perfect road trip song for when in the car with your friends on the way to do something this summer. It's your typical lovers to friends trope and the inevitable back and forth that comes along with it. I swear this trope has a stranglehold on the genre! That being said you will NOT hear me complaining about it with this one! Lyrics are straight forward, easy to learn, and hella fun to sing like some jackass in your car while stuck in traffic. And to top it all off the rhythm guitar has that perfect amount of distortion to hearken back to peak of punk with the just the right amount of sparkly lead to get that midwest emo feel at times.
